CDC estimates 94,000 invasive drug-resistant staph infections occurred in the U.S. in 2005 Due to the death of a student, once again this deadly disease-MRSA-is back in the spotlight. A problem in the health care setting has spread to schools. Advice to pass on to your children. 1)Wash hands 2)keep your own wounds clean and covered with a band-aid 3) NEVER touch a wound or a rash on someone else's body 4) NEVER share towels, razors, etc. that has been in contact with someone else's body 5) Use alcohol/bleach wipes to periodically clean personal supplies and lockers 6)NEVER place objects e.g. pencils or your fingers in your mouth
