How bad does it feel after a nose surgery, is it h

My husband is getting nose surgery to repair his septum within a couple of weeks. The surgeon has explained to us how it goes but some people tell me it is horrible afterwards (lots of mucus, dry mouth, painful removal of nose plugs...).
Is really that awful??? Please share some real experiences.
