Price book Keep a list of food sale prices on your computer or in a notebook. 1) Make a page for each food category e.g. chicken 2) From the weekly grocery ads mark down Brand name, date and sale price. Eventually you will be able to collect enough data to know what is an exceptional sale and to stock up on the item and when various foods go on sale.
Also recommend you keep a price book of food items you purchase at various places e.g. Dollar Store, Grocery Store, Discount Store, Wharehouse etc. Eventually you will get a complete list of prices and know where to pick up the flour (for example) when you need it and it isn't on sale.

Matching store prices: Although stores advertise they will match other store's prices here is a list of some common things they won't honor. -It has to be the exact same product. If the sale is for Hinky Dinky brand eggs, stores will not allow you to subsitute Farm Fresh or any other brand. -two-for-one sales or coupons. Many stores are begining to decline these -some stores are declining honoring percent off sales -most stores require the sales ad as proof -most stores will not honor double couponing Just a note for those new to bargin shopping. (I actually saw someone trying to do this.) If you have a buy one product/get another product free coupon, you cannot use the coupon to pay for the product you just bought. This woman purchased 3 snack bars than was trying to pay for them with 3 coupons stating buy any of our products -get the snack bar free. Bottom line if you see a good sale-buy it! Don't count on the next store honoring it.

A warning!! Beware of coupon sites that require you to download anything in order to print their coupons. Along with the downloads come spy-ware. If you have ever had these little nasties on your computer, you know how bad they can get. I had one that finally took over admin for my computer. It even had it's own log-in name, shell, and home page.
