When potty training my son I got alot of advice from floating lids of colored backing soda to plastic boats in the bowl-target practice. Well the best advice I heard and keep hearing is to get rid of the disposable pull-ups. Use cloth underpants or training pants. In less than a week your child should be trained. For more great tips you need to catch Dr. Phil's show on toilet training. Excellant and supportive of the child. Lady PP

My mother states I was trained at a year or she was train to take me to the toilet. The reality is that your toddler won't have the emotional or physical skills to use the toilet until she is between 24 to 30 months. Do not force the child, if she isn't ready wait a few weeks and try again.

We have quadruplet grandbabies that are almost 2 1/2 years old. It is more like party time than potty time when we try to get them all down. We, as well as at their home, have 4 potty chairs lined up against the wall. The two girls have "picked" their potty, and the two boys have their own, and always use their own potty. One of the girls and one of the boys is nearly totally potty trained, but the other two are hit and miss. We've just had to figure out what times to make sure they're on the potty (before meals, after naps, before naps and bedtime, etc.) to try to cover all the bases. You can read more about the quads and their "big" brother Jacob who is a year older than them on my personal blog, SarahJDoyle.com There is no extra time for much at either our house or their parents' house!! But we couldn't imagine life without them!
