Do adult children still need a parent? Yes, when dealing with loss, adult children need their parents for comfort and support. This especially true if your adult child is coping with a dying child or has lost a child. Being there is very important. But now you need to be there as a parent, not a friend.

Actually when a child reaches the age of majority (is no longer a minor), you have no obligation to him or her, denying there is an actual illness working in this type of situation is irresponsible and harmful to your child. If your child is stubborn and used to being babied, things will get worse before they get better. Now you need to be there as a parent, not a friend.
